Broumovsko, a jewel of nature

A Benedictine monastery, rock massifs, beautiful countryside,
fun activities and plenty of opportunities for relaxation.
You’ll find all this and much more in Broumovsko.

Adršpach-Teplice Rocks – Europe's biggest rock maze

Visit the impressive Adršpach-Teplice rock town, whose unique sandstone formations are a stunning sight – and not only that, they’re among the biggest in Europe. Nowhere else in Central Europe can you find so many breathtaking sandstone rocks and gorges in such a small area. You can also visit the only mountain-climbing museum in the Czech Republic, which is located in Adršpach Castle.

Broumovsko & Kladsko – landscapes of breathtaking Baroque architecture

Explore the opulent world of the Baroque, tucked away in the north-eastern corner of the Czech Republic by its border with Poland, and discover the region’s captivating atmosphere. Admire the work of the Dientzenhofers – in the Broumov region alone there are no fewer than nine unique Baroque churches which were built by these famous architects. Each of the churches is different with its own ground plan, each is important in its own right, but together they form a wonderful group that has come to define the character of the Broumov valley.

The Benedictine Monastery of Broumov

Visit Broumov Monastery, which is so vast that even the Benedictine monks didn’t know exactly how many rooms there were. The monastery once hid valuable objects from the marauding Hussite troops – for example, the Kodex Gigas, better known as the Devil’s Bible.

In the monastery you can admire unique treasures such as a copy of the Turin Shroud from 1651 that was only discovered in 1999. It’s the only one of its kind in Central Europe. The vast cellars of the monastery also contain 34 mummies, originating from the crypt of the parish church of St. Prokop in Vamberk.

Janovičky

Perched 664m above sea level, Janovičky is the highest-lying village of the Broumov district and nestles on the wooded slopes of the Javoří Mountains. All sorts of outdoor activities are possible here – from sport to relaxation.

Winter sports fans will love the downhill course and the ski-lift directly below the hotel. Its excellent location makes the hotel an ideal base for exploring the Broumov region, the nearby Adršpach Rocks, the natural phenomenon known as the Broumov and Teplice Walls, and the delightful Lower Silesian borderland. Broumovsko is also the proud home of a Baroque jewel from the workshop of the famous Dientzenhofer architects: the Broumov Monastery which towers majestically over the town.

Centrum Walzel

Centrum Walzel, just a 15 minute drive from our hotel, is a former industrial building that’s been imaginatively transformed into a popular multipurpose leisure facility. The centre includes a laser shooting range, bowling bar, fitness area, climbing wall, salt cave and much more for all the family.
